[photo-3d] Quiz #4 - Slide bar; Flash on camera?

I am counting Bruce's question as quiz no. 3.
We move on to quiz no. 4 (sorry if I am going a bit
too fast... I got to get these out of my system!)

Situation: You are ready to record a macro stereo by 
shifting an SLR camera on a slide bar.

Question:  Can the flash remain on the camera (and
get shifted with the camera) or should it be placed
outside the camera and remain fixed while the camera
is shifted.  YES? MAYBE? NO? IT DEPENDS? WHY?
