I whole heartily agree with this. It seems to me at one time, not too long ago,
the argument was that a level was not needed. Then the tendency on P3D
seemed to drift toward a level being almost an indispensable tool. I am
surprised at this tendency and am glad to see at least Allen speaking up.
Instead of looking at a bubble, one should invest their time, looking at the
viewfinder, composing the image. If it looks good in the viewfinder, a level
won't help make a better image.
Having said that, a multi axis level is almost mandatory in some close-up
work that is near the stereo window. It's almost impossible to do without,
in these particular cases.
