[photo-3d] Stereo Preferences

I was selecting some of my favorite views to organize a portfolio, and
noticed the images I selected have one thing in common. They all contain
moving objects that could not be captured with a digital camera/ or
single SLR etc. Elements like fire, water, sports and action,
birds in flight, live performers ( or Jim Harp's famous hovering jet
photo submitted in US views) For me, this defines the exceptional
abilties of stereo film cameras, and motivates me to shoot more and
more. Limiting yourself to landscapes and scenics, although enjoyable,
IMO will not leave lasting impressions in the minds of many people. My
goal is to strive to produce " memorable" photos, and action is a great
element to achieve such photos IMO.
This is why I don't embrace digital photography. All cameras I've
tried have shutter lag, seem difficult to sync, and would greatly limit
my style of shooting. As Marshall suggests we should all abandon our
film cameras in favor of digital so some major Mfgr. decides to offer a
stereo digital camera!? You're joking, right?
Film is all we had from the 60's to 90's, and noone offered a stereo SLR
then.
If you're shooting stereo photography today, you're already 40-50
years behind the times! Perhaps I'm in the minority, but frankly I'm
happy that stereo is a small niche market. I have better eyesight as a
result. :-)
