Hear, hear!
This reminds me, in our Ohio Salon (which was judged last
Saturday and will be shown in our club this coming Tuesday
- everyone is invited to attend!) one of the Honorable
Mentions called "Barock" shows the interior of a church.
The camera appears to be only a few inches from the ground.
This creates great impact (sufficient to impress the judges).
Had the camera been at eye level, most of this impact would
be lost, IMO.
Such low perspective can be taken using one of those
"tabletop tripods" set on the ground. These small tripods
are usually scorned by serious photographers, but I think
it is a good idea to carry one, especially if forced to travel
light.
