I might take it to Mexico :-) Nahhh, no big deal, just
a voltage regulator with many resistances to control
the voltage with a rotary switch.

I offer a simpler unit in replacement.  It is called
PS-1 and is shown here:

It uses a continuous switch (instead of rotary) with a
500 Ohm resistor and this has saved me a lot of soldering!
Still takes quite a bit of time because I start from 
first materials, drill holes, etc., so I only do a
batch of these every 2-3 years.  No one is buying them
anyway so why worry? :-)
