Again, MACO IR

I just received a round tin of 5 rolls of the MACO IR... 
Haven't opened it yet.... I need some suggestions :-)
First of all, I can't open the tin in the light right?  The 35 mm film is 
just in canisters in the tin?

And for those of you who had success with this film, how did you expose it?  
What EI did you set it for, for use with the meter and a red 25 filter?

And the info sheet for development didn't list any times for D-76...  did 
anyone use d-76?
