Stuart, this is very interesting, and congratulations on impressing
the Hassy folks!
Now someone needs to send them a copy of the SI 3D swimsuit
issue, and tell them that the *real* lead photographer (David
Klutho) regularly uses a very elaborate setup of about TEN
Hassleblads for his SI work, and he shoots a lot stereo and
also some multi-lens lenticular (flicker) images. His very
impressive work was shown at the NSA Green Bay convention (and
won some awards, if I recall correctly). He also spent quite
a bit of time at the RMM table, and was kind enough to show
me a good number of stereocards, and a flicker shot he made of
Mark McGuire actually hitting the big #70. (Think what *that*
would go for on e-bay...especially a few years down the road
if baseball reigns in the insane HR production levels.)
Klutho's Hassys were also used for the 3D Swimsuit issue (along
with some RBTs and possibly some other camera setups). He
regularly *produces* 3D images on his sports shooting assignments,
but, regrettably, SI doesn't publish any of them. If we really
allow ourselves to dream, maybe the Hassy folks would sponsor a
3D sports issue to show off Klutho's stereo Hassy work!
