Don,

A few others wrote about the shutters traveling in oppositte directions
too. I have not really had an oppurtunity to 'action shot' something in
Stereo yet. I've shot a few thousand 'stills' but have not specifically
even tried 'action' stereo shots. It's neat to know about it anyway.
Luckily, I will be using two Hasselblads in the same position so that
curtains opening in opposite directions will not be a problem. I had no
idea just how hard it was going to be to find a SECOND 500ELM Black
Hasselblad in excellent condition,... The search continues! Got my first
Hassy 'prints' using Portra 160 VC film... The results are impressive. I
was knocked out by the color balance and natural rendition of color. I shot
with a warming filter and a cooling (blue) filter.
The level of detail on these prints is terrific. -Probably mainly due to the
larger format I suppose, but WOW!!

By the way, Brian Martin (Salesperson and Hasselblad Specialist at
Gluskin's in Stockton) has been familiar with my stereo work for about three
years now. He is aware of my progression into the MF3D with the cameras and
spent last week in Sweeden and other areas with some Hasselblad Technicians.
He explained to them what I did and what I was about to do with MF
Hassy's... They were REALLY EXCITED and FLATTERED that the Hassy's had been
chosen for this... (Pretty cool eh?). They had not really considered 3D but
were very intrigued.... Who know's? maybe that chance discussion could
result in.... -Well, maybe I'm being a little TOO optimistic....

He then showed me a new 35mm Hassy Rangefinder that could switch from a
standard format to a PANORAMA by doubling the width of the curtain, etc....
It's one heck of a camera! It's $2,000 and appears to be quite an effort
along with terrific quality.

            -Stuart
