That's an excellent point, Robert.  I've thought about the
issue of not being able to write on black mounts before,
but forgot to mention it in response to Sam's post.  One
advantage of grey is that if it is not too dark we could
still write on the mount.

I suppose the entire back could be left white for writing.  I
think most folks do most of their writing on the back, with
just a title on the front.  The title could be put on a
label over the black or grey mount, but many people like
the convenience of writing directly on the mount.
