fixing rotation 'between chips'

I'm preparing the stereo radiographs of seashells for presentation at NSA
97. Many of them show rotation between the pairs. I'm using RBT mounts,
so I called Jon & was told the method of choice was to align them
'freehand' by viewing a magnified image of the pair & then using Wess tabs
to stick the chips to the mount. If only one chip is affixed to the mount,
the second chip can be mounted to the pin bar & you still have the sliding
separation adjustment.
Before I apply sticky tabs to a half dozen of my priceless chips, does
anyone have any other solutions to image rotation between pairs of chips,
preferably avoiding any sticky substances?
