On this one, I have to side against you, George.
Cha-Cha is the perfect low cost solution.  Yes it is difficult to get the 
results perfect, but anyone can try it with the camera they own, and the 
film they have loaded and the processor they use.  It's how I started and 
it was enough to get the "Oh, wow!  It works!" response.  Once I saw how it 
worked, I made myself a slide board and started figuring out what all this 
"base" stuff was about.  That has lead to my digital twin project.
If I had to go buy a new camera, devote an entire roll of film, or find a 
different processor, before I could even try it, I would never have bothered.
