I'm not going to dispute this too much. Objects are indeed distinct from
one another.

But, there are certain aspects of light and optics (wrap, glow, lens
limitations) that will generate a certain amount of blend. I'm actually
covering this subject right now in one of my compositing classes.

Perhaps there is some chemical aspect of kodachrome 25 that accentuates
the edge effects, which is what Paul is responding to.
