[photo-3d] heat seal mounts

The question has been raised as to whether people who use heat seal
Realist mounts have the practice of *taping down* the chip prior to
sealing, or whether they expect that the mount adhesive alone will hold
the chip in place.
My practice is to use a piece of Scotch invisible tape (allegedly
acid-free) from a desktop dispenser which I tear in half lengthwise to
secure a pair of film chips. I then fold over each mount to preview in a
viewer, and subsequently heat seal them in batches.
I have observed (when remounting slides) that Kodak mounted slides seem
to use the same type of taping, although the lab personnel don't
necessarily pay any attention to film chip position prior to applying
the tape.
So, folks, do you pretape or not??? Enquiring minds want to know, as do
developers of new heat seal mounts. -Linda
